-- Please pray for my dear friend Jerry. He has what look like infected bites on his arms. They are not bites. No one knows what they are from. Doctors have treated him with antibiotics and it has not worked. He has had an exterminator out to spray and there are no bugs. It's been 10 days, he is miserable,itchy and afraid. Please pray Kaiser will step up and work hard to find out exactly what infection he has under his skin and that they will treat him properly. He has missed many days of work from this. He is a good Christian man and I have been praying for him and the doctors, but I could use some help.

Dear Church Family,
We wanted to give you another update before the weekend. Pastor Lin is doing even better today. At the time of this update he had finished his breakfast and had already taken a couple walks around the hospital floor and was sounding "like his old self." ... very encouraging news.
He is still not up to visitors, beyond family, at this point. I know a lot of you have asked. But at this time the presence of your prayers is the best way to encourage him. When he lets us know he's up to visits, we will let you know.

We wanted to let you know that Pastor Lin is doing better today. He was able to eat breakfast this morning and took a little walk. He will be having an angiogram on Monday or Tuesday, and, depending on the results of that, may be home by Wednesday or Thursday.

Dear Friends and Family,
Here it is, another Thursday. Thursday's are chemo days for our six year old granddaughter, Emmersen (We call her Emme). So far all the results have been encouraging in her battle with Leukemia. We thank all of you for your prayers. The doctors have been very aggressive in their attempt to eradicate the cancer cells. Our constant prayer is that God will intervene and with one mighty touch do what is otherwise projected to be a two and a half year battle.
We visited with Emme last Thursday following her treatment. Her face is swollen from the drugs. Usually she runs to hug us, but on that day she was only able to weakly wave at us. Usually she has a cheery, "Hey Pops! What's up?" On that day in a quiet little voice came a "Hello, Papa." As Barbara sat down beside her, she noticed a large bowl. Emme said, "Nana, I'm sorry if I get sick. I don't mean to." We look forward to the return of the good old days. After a brief visit, Emme's sister and brother began to vie for attention. A little later, Emme got up off the couch and walked into her bedroom and laid down in her bed on her own, not calling attention to what she was doing. She seems to know what is best for her and quietly goes about it.
When Barbara went into her room as we were about to leave, she said, "I wish there was something we could do for you, Emme." Emme responded, "Pray and sing." So Barbara prayed for her and began to sing, "Jesus loves me." Emme, laying there with an ice pack on her head began to sing also, until she ran out of breath. Then she signed the song.
When the song ended, Barbara said, "You know that hundreds of people are praying for you, Emme?" "I know, Nana. And I pray for you." "And you know that Jesus loves you very much?" "Oh, yes, Nana. I know that he loves me and he loves you." This conversation took place in hushed tones between a tiny, weakened voice belonging to a brave little girl who has chosen to face whatever comes with each day, until she is well again, and a brave grandmother with MS who understands pain and chokes back tears in the presence of her grand-daughter so that she will be encouraged, and not become fearful.
We are so thankful for your prayers. Your email responses have been an encouragement to us. Thanks! Please remember Emme, especially onThursdays. Our next target date is July 16. That will be a day of test
results which will determine whether or not a bone marrow transplant will be necessary. We're praying that it will not be necessary, not only for Emme, but also for the pain that her younger sister or brother would have
to go through. The chromosome pattern will also be reported at that time. We're praying for a Divine touch from the Lord which will hasten the time of good health again.

Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you so much for your prayers. The surgeons said everything went perfectly. Emme now has a means of safely receiving chemotherapy, and her hands are free of IV’s for the most part. We would appreciate your prayers for the following step, and it’s a big one. On Monday or Tuesday the physicians will perform a test on Emme’’s chromosomes. I don’t quite understand what is involved, but if the chromosomes are in a “good formation” she will be able to go home from the hospital and will not have to stay in the hospital for future chemo treatments. She will be able to be treated on an outpatient basis. On the other hand, if the chromosomes are not in a good formation, she will have to have a bone marrow transplant. The first ones considered as donors will be her four year old sister, or her two year old brother. It will involve removal of a bone from the breastplate. Just the thought of that brings tears to the eyes. If they are not a match then the search will go through the parents, grandparents, and other adults. So, please pray that the Lord will put Emmersen’s chromosomes in an excellent formation. The Lord will understand, even if I do not. Thank you for being so faithful in your prayers.

Hi Friends and Family,
Our son, Paul’s 6 year old daughter, Emmersen, (Emme), has been diagnosed with B cell Acute Leukemia. She has had a spinal tap where the doctors inserted chemo to block cancer cells from reaching the brain. In addition, she has received two days of general chemo. She is also receiving morphene, anti-naseau meds, and pregnazone. Still, she displays a good attitude, even praying that God would heal her Nana (Barbara) so they can play dress-up and tea party again soon. We thank you who have already been praying. Our prayers regarding the B cell have been answered. Thank you for your continued prayers. Our request is that you will pray tomorrow (Saturday, 6 -21) at 8:00 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time, or when you can, that: Our Heavenly Father will guide and steady the surgeon’s hands as they insert a catheter near the heart which will become the port for future chemo injections. At present she has I V s in both hands. And please pray that Emme will be protected from infections or viruses. Those could be deadly! We thank all of you for your faithful prayers. We are making a collection of your e-mails to give to Paul and Danette, and a copy for Emme, so they will realize how many are holding them and Barbara and I up in prayer.
